God’s mercy invites us to offer our whole lives to Him. Explore this week’s message on your own, with your family, or with your JOY Group.
Before Paul calls us to offer our lives to God, he points us to God’s mercy. In Exodus, God reminded His people that He had rescued them before calling them to worship Him alone. In Jesus, God has shown us mercy and welcomed us into His family. Our worship begins as a grateful response to what He has done.
Worship includes singing, but it reaches into every part of life. Romans 12 invites us to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice: our words, work, relationships, time, and resources. We do not offer our lives to earn forgiveness; Jesus has already given Himself for us. We respond to His mercy with trust and obedience.
The habits around us can shape us toward comparison, consumption, and approval. God renews our minds as we return to His truth. Gratitude, generosity, rest, Scripture, prayer, and community can redirect our attention to Him. Ask yourself: What habits strengthen the things competing for my trust? What practice could help me return my attention to God?
Take a few minutes each day to read, reflect, pray, and put your faith into practice.

Paul’s invitation to worship begins with God’s mercy. Before considering what you will offer, remember what God has already given you in Jesus.
Pray: Father, thank You for welcoming me through Jesus. Let gratitude shape my response to You.
Take action: Write down one way you have experienced God’s mercy and thank Him for it.
Read: Exodus 20:1–3
God reminded Israel of His rescue before calling them to worship Him alone. His people could trust the God who had brought them out of slavery.
Pray: Lord, remind me of Your faithfulness and help me give You first place.
Take action: Share one reminder of God’s faithfulness with someone today.
Read: Romans 5:6–8
God’s love is shown in Christ’s death for us while we were still sinners. Our worship is a response to grace, not an attempt to earn it.
Pray: Jesus, thank You for loving me and giving Yourself for me. Help me receive Your grace.
Take action: Pause before one task today and remember that God’s love is not a reward for your performance.
Read: Romans 8:1–4
In Christ, those who belong to Him are no longer under condemnation. Forgiveness gives us freedom to respond to God with trust rather than fear.
Pray: Father, thank You for forgiveness in Christ. Teach me to live in the freedom of Your grace.
Take action: When you remember a failure today, bring it to God in prayer and thank Him for His mercy.
Read: Romans 12:1
Offering our lives to God includes ordinary choices: how we speak, work, spend, and pay attention to others. These moments can express our love for Him.
Pray: Lord, my life belongs to You. Help me honor You in my ordinary choices.
Take action: Choose one ordinary interaction today and respond with patience, generosity, or undivided attention.
Read: Romans 12:2
Repeated habits shape what we pay attention to and desire. God renews our minds as we turn to His truth and learn to recognize His good ways.
Pray: God, renew my mind. Help me notice the voices shaping me and return to Your truth.
Take action: Set aside a few minutes normally spent scrolling to read Romans 12:1–2 and pray.
Read: Hebrews 10:24–25
